Why We Must Vote Big: Kamala Harris, Trump’s Tactics, and America’s Racial Reality

Kamala Harris brought the fire. That Black Oakland Girl energy was on full display, and she gave Donald Trump everything he deserved. She showed grace, sharp intellect, and facts. But let’s not kid ourselves—despite all her qualifications and strong showing, she could still lose. How? One word: racism.

The Debate Recap: Harris vs. Trump

Kamala Harris stood tall and took on Trump with poise and power. She made her points clear, fact-checked him in real-time, and delivered some memorable moments. That Black Oakland Girl energy was shining throughout. She knew Trump would come with his usual bluster, and she was ready. Harris didn’t just hold her own; she owned him.

There was one moment, though, where you could feel that she was just moments away from fully unleashing. But she held back, which was smart. Let me share a clip to show you what I mean:

She delivered a powerful answer about Afghanistan and Trump’s mess of a deal with the Taliban. The facts hit hard: it was Trump who made the weak deal with the Taliban and released 5,000 terrorists. Then he invited them to Camp David—an insult to America’s diplomacy. Kamala Harris could’ve gone even harder, but she chose grace.

Can Trump Still Win? Yes, Because Racism Is Alive and Well

Despite Harris’s stellar performance, Trump can still win. How could that happen with a man who is:

  • A convicted felon (34 counts!)
  • Responsible for an insurrection
  • A serial liar
  • Openly racist and sexist

Simple: America is still deeply racist, and many white Americans are more invested in preserving white supremacy than in maintaining democracy. Racism is Trump’s greatest asset. People are willing to overlook everything—criminal behavior, disrespect, treason—just to keep white supremacy intact. Even worse, some Black men are supporting Trump, despite how harmful he has been to our community.

Kamala Harris Pulled Punches—Here’s What She Could’ve Said

Some pundits said Harris hit Trump hard, but in my opinion, she could’ve gone even further. She held back.

Let’s break down a few areas where she could’ve dug deeper:

  • The economy: Trump likes to take credit for a “booming economy.” But no, sir, you inherited it from Obama, and Kamala could’ve put him in his place. Inflation? Dropping under Biden. Unemployment? The lowest, even for Black Americans, under Biden and Harris.
  • Student Loans: Trump said Biden’s student loan program wasn’t working—Harris could’ve reminded him the administration still forgave $5 billion in student loans, despite court challenges.
  • Afghanistan: Harris explained Trump’s devastating deal with the Taliban. However, she left out the fact that there was a hard deadline. If the troops hadn’t been pulled out, the Taliban would’ve resumed killing American soldiers. Trump’s weak deal put us in a corner, not Biden.
  • Weaponizing the DOJ: Trump ranted about the DOJ, but Harris could’ve cleared the air. Trump’s cases in New York are state cases. The federal DOJ has nothing to do with that. She missed the chance to hit him with cold, hard facts.
  • COVID: Trump mishandled COVID, lied about it daily, and destroyed the strong economy he bragged about. Harris could’ve pointed out that Biden and Harris had to fix Trump’s mess and have been steadily improving conditions.

There are so many more things she could’ve said to bury Trump. But even if she had gone all-in, Trump still might hang on because of one thing—white supremacy.

Tim Scott and The “America Isn’t Racist” Lie

One of Trump’s loudest defenders is Tim Scott, who loves to claim that America isn’t a racist country. He paints himself as the success story—raised in poverty, pulled himself up by his bootstraps, single mother, the whole deal.

The reality is, Scott’s claims fall apart the minute you look around. Trump’s support base is rooted in white supremacy, and his rise, even after all the disasters he’s caused, shows that racism still runs deep in this country. America is racist, and Trump is the proof. Tim Scott’s fairytale about “working hard” doesn’t change that.

Trump’s 2025 Vision: A Threat to Democracy and Civil Rights

If Trump wins again, democracy as we know it disappears. It’s not just about Trump’s personal greed or ambition. The GOP has bigger plans, known as “Project 2025”—a platform to dismantle key protections and civil rights.

Here’s what we’re up against:

  • Gutting the Department of Education: They want to destroy the education system, limiting access and diversity.
  • Rolling back civil rights laws: All the progress from the Civil Rights Movement could disappear overnight.
  • Environmental protections? Gone: The EPA will be gutted, and corporations will pollute as they please.
  • A new fascist regime: Their goal is to replace democracy with authoritarianism, all to maintain white supremacy.

This isn’t fear-mongering. It’s reality. If Trump or another GOP puppet gets into office, they will tear apart the progress we’ve made for civil rights and equality.

The Danger of Black Trump Supporters

Often, we see people who claim to be pro-Black but still align with Trump. Let me be clear: you cannot claim to be for Black people and support a white supremacist like Donald Trump. It’s that simple.

Pro-Black imposters are undermining Kamala Harris, criticizing everything about her while keeping quiet about Trump’s blatant racism. It doesn’t make sense. Trump has shown over and over that he has no respect or care for Black people or our causes.

Here’s the brutal truth—the people undermining Kamala Harris are just scared to admit they back Trump. They know it’ll destroy their credibility with Black voters, so they play in the shadows. It’s cowardly.

Let’s Not Miss This Opportunity

We are at a turning point. Our democracy is under attack from within, and Kamala Harris is one of the leaders we need to fend off this assault on civil rights and democracy. If our community doesn’t fully show up, white supremacist forces led by Trump could take control again.

We need to vote—big. And we need to call out anyone, even from our own community, who is undermining Kamala Harris and helping Trump’s racist agenda.

This is a fight for the soul of the country, and we need to stand firm.
