If there was ever a time to rally behind a candidate, it’s now. We are 50 days away from the election, and Kamala Harris is our chance to elect the first Black female president. It’s not just about making history; it’s about stepping up, ensuring that Black men and our communities don’t get left behind, and choosing the leadership that we know will advocate for us.
We’ve got work to do, and it starts now.
The Election Starts NOW
One of the most urgent messages you should internalize is that the election isn’t in 50 days. The election is happening right now. Early voting is beginning. In some states, ballots are already out, and people are returning them. If we sit back and wait for Election Day, we may lose crucial ground. We need to be out there aggressively pushing early voting. Every vote that’s cast early makes the road easier come Election Day.
It’s time to recognize that Election Day isn’t just a singular day anymore, it is a process. And that process starts as soon as early voting begins in your state.
We need everyone to understand that if we wait until the last minute, we lose the advantage. Start today.
Why Black Men’s Vote Matters More Than Ever
Historically, Black women have shown up when it comes to voting. They lead in voter turnout. What’s missing? More of us—Black men—getting to the polls, showing up for every single election, and backing candidates who will protect our communities, our families, and our future.
It’s about more than casting a vote just because you always have. It’s voting with purpose. Kamala Harris represents the needs of our people and our issues. This is bigger than anything about “voting for a woman.” Every Black man needs to realize what’s at stake:
- Criminal justice reform
- Reduced over-policing of Black communities
- Maternal health care, especially for Black women
- Police accountability and comprehensive reform
Harris has fought for these issues in the Senate, and she’s shown her willingness to stand up for the community over and over. Your vote for her is a vote for a future where these issues—our issues—are front and center.
Some brothers might claim they feel mixed about backing a Black woman for president. To that, I say: take a look at your mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters. Do they not lead in your lives? It’s time for us to embrace the reality that Black women have always led, whether in your homes or in leadership. They stand on the front lines when it comes to the challenges in our communities, and Kamala Harris represents that grit, resilience, and determination.
Challenges Ahead: Voter Suppression and Fighting Back
Let’s not be naive. There’s an orchestrated effort to suppress our vote—whether it’s purging voter rolls, reducing polling stations, or placing unnecessary barriers in our way. We’ve seen how some states are even removing people off the voting rolls without their knowledge. It’s on us to stay informed.
Check your voter registration status. You don’t want to be one of the many who find out too late that you’ve been purged from the voter rolls. Take a moment right now, head over to iwillvote.com or check your state’s voter registration site. Make sure you’re still registered. Then, make sure your family and friends do the same.
Keep in mind:
- In states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Florida, voter registration deadlines are looming. Don’t wait. Register now.
- Not all states allow online voter registration—especially in places like Mississippi, Montana, and Texas. If you’re in one of these states, get registered before it’s too late.
Once you’ve confirmed your own status, reach out to your crew. Whether it’s your brothers at the gym, your cousins, or your co-workers—spread the word. We won’t win this thing unless we all show up.
In Every State, Black Men Are Key
We often hear about battleground states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina, but all too often, folks focus on urban areas and forget about the smaller towns. The truth is those rural areas—places in Georgia, North Carolina, or Pennsylvania—hold massive untapped voting potential.
Think about it. The collective Black vote in some of these rural areas can rival and even surpass the impact of major cities. Ignoring these areas is like ignoring Atlanta or Detroit. Instead of just focusing on the urban cores, we need to mobilize everybody—down to the smallest towns. This is how we win on a massive scale.
It’s on us to have these conversations in barbershops, at gyms, diners, and at family dinners. Get out to places like North Carolina’s Black Belt or rural towns in Georgia. Whether you’re in a big city or out in the country, your voice—our voices—matter more than ever.
Don’t Just Talk, Act
Look, this election shouldn’t be close, but it’s going to be—a lot closer than we’d like. Which is why we need to act now. We have less than two months to turn this thing out. And that means every single one of us needs to do something every day, even if it’s small:
- Talk to five brothers each day. Encourage them to vote.
- Organize quick voter registration drives in your community.
- Use your social media to spread the word.
- Make phone calls, send texts—whatever it takes.
Hold the Line, Black Men
Politics isn’t a game. It reflects the policies that decide whether we have access to good jobs, whether police reform happens or not, and whether our kids get fair schooling. Donald Trump wants to give 100% immunity to police officers. He wants to bring back stop-and-frisk. You already know how that plays out for us. Do you really think a Trump presidency will be better for our communities?
Harris, by contrast, has already followed through. She has fought for the mothers of Black sons, for fair policing, for equitable healthcare—and most importantly, she has fought for us. We’ve seen what she can do as a U.S. Senator. Now, let’s give her the chance to do even more.
Now Is Our Time
It’s go time. Kamala Harris is the leader we need, and she’s proven time and time again that she’s ready for this role. But she can’t do it without us. It’s our responsibility, our duty, to show up, vote early, and let our voices be heard in this election.
Black men, let’s show up for ourselves, our families, and our communities like never before. Let’s show this country that our voice not only matters—it will be heard. Check out your vour voter status at https://iwillvote.com/
