A Detroit judge who purchased a teenager to be handcuffed for going to sleep in the courtroom has been temporarily eliminated from his docket,
36th District Court Chief Judge William McConico ordered Judge Kenneth King to go to training “to resolve the underlying concerns that added to this case.”
On Tuesday, the teenager remained in King’s courtroom throughout a school outing when King called her out for sleeping. The court forced the teenager to put on an environment-friendly prison one-piece suit, had her put in manacles, and made her beg for forgiveness.
Since the family has no irreversible location to stay, the teen’s mommy told regional press reporters her little girl was most likely tired.
King has actually served in the 36th District Court since 2006.
